Consider what you now know about nursing organizations and how they relate to environmental health.
  • Are you currently involved with a nursing organization? Yes, I belong to Sigma Theta Tau, AANP,  CANP, NAPNAP.
  • Are you aware of their involvement in environmental health or their environmental health positions or policies? No, but I will be looking into their standing on these issues
  • If you are currently involved in a nursing organization, can you imagine how you might bring environmental health awareness to the organization? I could write a letter to them and make them aware.
  • How about having a session on environmental health at your organization's annual meeting? The Alliance of Nurses for Healthy Environments can help to identify expert speakers. I believe this great. I currently teach at California State University Fresno and I am sure my NP students would really benefit from this teaching.
